Karen's Home Salon

After more than 20 years as a beautician, Karen reached a turning point. Rising costs on the high street meant it was time to rethink how and where she worked, and with her lease coming to an end, she decided to bring her business home. Her Cabin Master garden room became the perfect solution... a calm, private beauty space designed around her needs, complete with separate treatment areas for client comfort. What started as a practical move to reduce overheads quickly became something much more, giving Karen a peaceful place to work, a better work-life balance, and a renewed love for her career. We caught up with Karen to hear how her garden beauty room has transformed the way she works…

Has the cabin impacted Your Home Beauty Business

"The cabin's been the best thing I've ever done in my career. I've been a beautician for over 20 years and I wish I'd have done it years and years ago. Now I'm loving working from this space. "

"So, working in the cabin has been really really lovely for me. I feel like the massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders financially. I love being in the garden. I love being at home. I feel really calm and collected. I think because I'm in my happy space in my garden and because it is just so lovely and peaceful and tranquil, I'm really enjoying working from the cabin. It's great."

Garden Room Design Choices

"This steam engine green was in the show site at Cabin Master, and I loved it straight away. Then I just wanted to pair it with something that was kind of calming and neutral. So the cream was just a great option for me. The size of the cabin surprised me as I had thought, "It's not going to be big enough." And then when I've actually got in here and utilised the space and put all my furniture in, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the amount of space I've actually got. I knew that I needed two separate rooms because I like to keep all my treatments private. So, I needed the partition in the room because obviously we're doing treatments like massages, waxing and things like that. It's got to be professional. People have got to feel comfortable."

Why choose a Garden Salon

"The reason for buying the cabin was I had a salon on the high street, and it was just costing me too much money."

"When my lease came for renewal in July, that was the time for me to then get something in place and get prepared for when my lease ended and a fresh start at home. "

Why choose Cabin Master?

"I knew people that had had cabin master cabins put in their garden and I knew the quality and I knew how good they were at what they did."

"We took a trip up there. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of choice on offer, different variations on cabin, different sizes, different kind of cladding styles and things like that. So for me it was a no-brainer. There was nobody else to choose."
