Running a hair business from home is becoming more popular, and for good reason. Rising commercial rents, limited flexibility, and the need to create a more personal client experience are all pushing stylists and therapists to rethink where they work.  A garden hair salon gives you the best of both worlds. A dedicated, professional space that feels completely separate from your home, without the overheads of renting a chair somewhere.

Professional Lighting & Electrics

Having bright, professional task lighting makes a huge difference to both how your salon looks and how you work. A garden hairdressing room needs proper salon-worthy lighting for your cutting, colouring and treatments, alongside ample power for everything you’re running throughout the day.

That’s why our hair salon pods come with bright, evenly distributed spotlights. We also include plenty of sockets for your hair tools and equipment, placed exactly where you need them around the room and installed by our expert electricians.

The Process: Hairdressing Pods for the Garden

1. Consultation & Design

Tell us about your garden salon requirements and how you want the space to work. We’ll discuss the layout, style and features before creating a bespoke 3D design.

2. Quote & Booking

We’ll provide a detailed quotation based on your chosen size and specification. Once you’re happy to proceed, you’ll pay your deposit and book your installation date.

3. Site Preparation

Before installation, your garden needs to be clear and ready for the build. Any required external utilities or connections should also be arranged in advance.

4. Build & Installation

We’ll manufacture your bespoke garden salon and install it on site, completing the building and your chosen finishes and features. Your new salon will then be ready to furnish and start using.

Designed for Your Business

If it's time to stop renting a chair, commuting to work and giving away a large proportion of your earnings to a salon owner, let's create your dream garden hair salon. We design your home salon around your lifestyle, clients and business requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you put a toilet and sink in a garden room?

Yes, you can have a toilet and sink in your home salon. We can leave space for this in your design, however we do not offer plumbing services. You will need to get the plumbing work completed by a professional local plumber.

How do you get hot water to a garden salon pod?

Through properly installed plumbing systems connected during groundwork and installation. You will need to get the plumbing work completed by a professional local plumber.

Are your garden salons warm enough in the winter?

Yes, our garden salons are fully lined and insulated and designed to be used and enjoyed year-round.

Do I need planning permission for my hair salon in the garden?

In many cases, garden rooms fall under permitted development rights, meaning planning permission may not be required for the building itself. However, when operating a business such as a garden hair salon or garden beauty salon from home, additional considerations can sometimes apply.

Factors such as the level of client visits, parking, signage, operating hours, and the overall impact on neighbouring properties may determine whether change-of-use planning permission is required by your local authority.

The good news is that this is something our team can help guide you through. With years of experience designing and installing professional garden salon spaces across the UK, we can advise on the typical requirements involved and help you understand what may apply to your project before work begins. We always recommend checking directly with your local council for the most accurate guidance relating to your specific project.

How much space do I need for a garden hair salon?

This depends on how you plan to use the salon and how many clients you want to accommodate. A smaller room may suit a one-to-one setup, while a larger garden room can provide space for multiple styling stations, seating and storage.

Can I run my hairdressing business from a garden salon?

A garden room can provide a dedicated space for working from home, separate from your main living areas. If you plan to run a business from your garden, you should check any relevant planning, building regulations, insurance and local authority requirements for your property and intended use.
