Rachael's Dual-Purpose Garden Room for Work & Music

This 4m × 3m bespoke garden room was designed as a dual-purpose space for home working and making music, giving Rachael a dedicated place to work while also having room for her musical interests. The layout makes clever use of the available space, with separate areas for her office and music setup.

How Does the Garden Room Work as Both a Home Office and Music Space?

Rachael's garden room has been arranged into two working areas. One side features the main desk area with a triple-monitor setup for computer-based work, while a second smaller desk provides space for a computer, microphone and her musical instruments.


Keeping the two setups within the same garden room means the building can serve as both a home office and music studio, without needing separate rooms for each activity.

How Was the Garden Room Designed for Working?

An additional window has been positioned alongside the main desk area to make the most of natural light while working. This sits alongside the building's insulated construction to create a comfortable dedicated space for working away from the main house all year round.

The 4m × 3m layout provides enough room for the office setup while still allowing space for the separate music area. Importantly, this size doesn't dominate Rachael's garden either, leaving her plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. 

What Finishes Were Chosen for the Interior?

Rachael chose our stunning Hickory laminate flooring, with two walls painted white and two finished in Potting Shed, which is a pale green colour perfect for creating a calming office and music space.

The combination adds some warmth and contrast while keeping the room light and practical.

How Has the Space Been Personalised?

Rachael has added her own finishing touches, including deep green plush curtains, as well as fun and artful motorsport wall prints and displayed helmets, giving the garden room a distinctive touch of her own personality.

These details work alongside the neutral exterior and painted walls to create a room carefully designed for both productivity and creativity.

Rachael now has a garden room that works across two different parts of daily life, with the layout and finishes tailored around the way she actually needed to use the additional space.

  • Doors & Windows: Double glazed, energy efficient uPVC doors and windows for peak energy efficiency.
  • Insulation: High quality silver-backed foam insulation from Celotex, Kingspan, Extratherm or similar.
  • Finishing: FSC approved MDF interior boards with Neatmatch damp resistant coating.

Our design team are on hand to turn your new garden office vision into a reality. Your ideas and sketches are transformed into a 3D drawing which is then perfected until you are 100% happy. The design is then sent to our factory where your new garden office is manufactured.

Delivery & installation

When you order your new garden office, we will arrange a convenient delivery and installation schedule, with an affordable quote tailored to your needs. The cost of delivery and fitting depends on the size of your office, where you live, transportation distance and how many people you need to set up your garden office.
