Liz & Wayne's Star Wars-Themed Garden Bar

Liz and Wayne’s impressive 7m x 6m garden room has become the ultimate space for entertaining, watching sport and displaying an incredible collection of Star Wars and sporting memorabilia.

Located at the bottom of their garden in Derbyshire, the cabin brings together everything they enjoy in one spacious, purpose-built room. With a fully equipped bar, pool table, dartboard, comfortable seating and a large television, it is a garden bar and games room designed to be enjoyed with friends and family throughout the year.

A Garden Room Designed Around Their Interests

Entertaining in the garden has always been important to Liz and Wayne, so they wanted a room that would give them plenty of space to host guests while also providing a home for their growing collection.

Inside, the layout has been carefully planned to create separate areas without dividing the room. A full-size pool table sits at the centre, while the seating area faces a wall-mounted television for films, sport and relaxed evenings.

At the opposite end, an L-shaped bar with stools, a beer pump and overhead pendant lighting completes the entertainment space. The design was inspired by one of the display cabins at our show site, but Liz and Wayne chose to take the idea even further with a larger building and their own distinctive theme.

Bringing the Garden Together

Externally, the cabin is finished in Pebble Grey Marley Board, chosen to coordinate with the other structures and finishes already found throughout Liz and Wayne’s garden.

The composite cladding provides a contemporary appearance while offering a durable and low-maintenance exterior. Dark window frames, fascia boards and surrounding garden fencing create a consistent colour palette across the space.

A four-panel aluminium bifold door spans much of the front elevation. When fully opened, the doors create a wide, uninterrupted entrance and connect the games room directly with the garden.

This allows the cabin to become part of the wider outdoor entertaining area during warmer weather, while still providing a fully enclosed and comfortable room during the colder months.

A Dark and Contemporary Interior

The interior has been finished in pencil point and upgraded with a dark grey slatted feature wall.

Running across the rear of the cabin, the slatted wall creates a strong feature wall for the framed memorabilia and seating area. It also gives the room a contemporary finish that works perfectly with the black furniture, grey sofas and industrial-style bar lighting.

Light grey flooring and pale wall panels balance the darker features, helping the large room feel bright and open. With ceiling spotlights provide plenty of illumination across the pool table, bar and seating areas, while air conditioning helps keep the cabin comfortable throughout the seasons.

An Incredible Star Wars Collection

The Star Wars theme can be seen throughout the cabin, with signed photographs, framed memorabilia and character displays adding personality to every wall.

Two of the most striking pieces are the full-size Stormtrooper and R2-D2 displays. The Stormtrooper is numbered 58 of only 70, while the R2-D2 unit is numbered 60 of 66, making them standout additions to an already impressive collection.

Smaller details, including character figures, themed signs and a lightsaber handle displayed beneath the television, help bring the room together without overwhelming the space.

The result is a room that feels personal and considered rather than simply decorated around a theme.
