Nottingham Hockey Centre is the premier hockey venue in the Midlands. The venue is situated just 15 minutes from the M1 motorway and 10 minutes from Nottingham city centre, in the picturesque grounds of Highfields Park.

The specialist facilities at the Nottingham Hockey Centre are open to the whole community in & around Nottinghamshire. Nottingham Hockey Centre is a popular venue for functions such as birthday parties, anniversaries and the like, as well as conferences for local businesses. Nottingham Hockey Centre runs many activities in Nottingham through its Hockey in the Community Programme. In the summer of 2023 Cabin Master installed a fantastic new outdoor space next to the main pitch for staff and players to use for a multitude of reasons.

Creating Space For Sporting Facilities

Cabin Master are extremely proud to work with the Nottingham Hockey Centre to support them in creating the extra space they need to expand their already superb Hockey facilities, to benefit everyone involved with the centre, including players, staff & visitors.

We worked with them to create a bright, functional space whilst adding a stunning feature to their site. They opted for a 10m x 4m Cedar-clad outdoor building - our premium cladding option.

The interior walls are lined with FSC Neatmatch TM Moisture Resistant MDF interior wall board ready for decoration and our roof system is finished with Firestone EPDM single piece rubber membrane roof covering complete with purpose made verges and gutter trims finished in black. Black uPVC guttering and downpipes are provided as required.

Nottingham Hockey Centre outdoor building

As England Hockey Cup winners, with thirteen adult teams and a large junior division, Beeston Hockey Club (based at the Nottingham Hockey Centre) is arguably one of the country’s most successful hockey clubs on the pitch. But as all amateur clubs will know; for every goal scored, an incredible amount of hard-work and effort is put in behind-the-scenes, by the club’s committee, coaches, volunteers and players alike, to keep the club running all year round. Having some additional space was crucial to the develop & progress of the clubs & we were delighted to help.

The Process

On our initial phone call we will establish the size and style of Garden Room that you are looking for so a CAD drawing can be created.

A visit to our Nottingham show site, around a 2 hour drive away, is always recommended. We have a variety of cabins on display of different sizes, external cladding options and overall layouts.

Once our Design Team have created your drawings we can book to come out to you and conduct a site survey. Our team will advise you further on your new space and the ideal location in your garden.

In most cases our Garden Rooms come within permitted development and will not require permission.

Nottingham Hockey Centre Gareth Griffiths

Gareth started playing hockey aged 5 at Beeston Hockey Club. He stayed at the club during his junior hockey years and made Premier League debut with Beeston at 15, becoming the Men’s First Team captain at the age of 22. Gareth represented Great Britain at U21 and U23 level, including winning 2 Gold Medals (2018 & 2019) and 1 Silver Medal (2017) for Great Britain U21s at the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia. New to the senior Wales Men’s team, Gareth joined the squad in January 2022 and is looking forward to following in his brother David’s footsteps in representing Wales on the international stage.

Every component we use in our Cabin Master garden rooms is guaranteed for quality and durability. Each building comes with a 10-year workmanship and labour guarantee, plus the guarantees of each individual component or building material included. Below are some typical examples:

10 year guarantee on building materials.
1 year metalwork guarantee (including hinges, handles and ironmongery).
10 year guarantee on UPVc doors.
10 year guarantee on window frames.
4 year guarantee on glass window units.

We only use FSC produced Western Red Cedar or slow grown PEFC/FSC Scandinavian Redwood exterior cladding over BBA certified breathable membrane to ensure all our buildings meet our strict quality control standards. The walls are constructed from structural (C16) timber and are fully insulated with Kingspan^TM thermal insulation boards (or similar).

Our design team are on hand to turn your vision into a reality. Your ideas and sketches are transformed into a CAD drawing which is then perfected until you are 100% happy. The design is then sent to our factory where the cabin is created.

When you order your new garden room, we will arrange a convenient delivery and installation schedule, with an affordable quote tailored to your needs. The cost of delivery and fitting depends on the size of your building, where you live, transportation distance and how many people you need to set up your garden room.

The final price is determined by the size of your garden room and the features you choose. We provide a comprehensive, transparent quote for each garden room, issued on an individual basis. Your quote will include design consultation, base, construction materials and labour.
