Insulated, Custom Built Home Yoga Studios

Fully bespoke outdoor yoga studios from the number 1 supplier in the Midlands.

Stepping out of your house and into a space that’s entirely dedicated to yoga and wellness transforms how you practise. In a garden yoga studio, there’s no distractions or background noise to interrupt your flow, and there’s no need to move your living room furniture around or clear out the office to create space for your mat first. It’s just a calm, dedicated environment where you can find relaxation and enjoy your routine.

At Cabin Master, we design outdoor yoga studios that aren’t just extra rooms but spaces that feel considered, balanced and comfortable to use every day.

Custom Yoga Pods Designed Around Light, Calm & Space

A natural connection to your surroundings

With a bespoke yoga studio, you can choose your window and door placement. Opt for large glazing to frame your garden, bringing in ample natural light and creating a visual connection to nature and the outdoors.

Whether it’s early morning light to aid your sun salutations or a cosy, soft-flow evening session, the studio space shifts naturally with the light levels throughout the day.

Create a wellness space that feels clear and uncluttered

Unlike a spare room in the house, a dedicated studio allows you to keep the space exactly as you need it. There’s no compromise with layout or storage. Mats, props and equipment all have a place, meaning the room stays clear, functional and ready to use at any time.

For many yoga and wellness enthusiasts, this simplicity is what makes the biggest difference to their consistency, making it easier to access and enjoy the many benefits of yoga.

Year-Round Comfort for Everyday Practice

A wellness space that works in every season

One of the most common issues with practicing yoga at home without a proper setup is the temperature. Garden buildings that aren’t properly insulated can feel too cold in winter and too warm in summer, making them difficult to use consistently.

Our Cabin Master studios are fully lined and insulated and built for year-round use, creating a stable internal environment that feels comfortable whenever you step inside.

Optional Climate Control

For those who want complete flexibility, we offer air source climate control systems which can be integrated into your yoga studio design. These units allow you to heat or cool the space as required, creating the ideal conditions for your chosen session.

Whether you prefer a warmer environment for hot yoga, bikram or restorative yin sessions or a cooler space for active practice, you can adapt the temperature to suit you. It also gives you the flexibility to use the studio beyond yoga, from stretching and mobility work to sound baths, meditation and general wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need planning permission for a yoga studio in my garden?

Most garden yoga studios do not need planning permission as they fall into the 'outbuildings' category. There are certain rules you will need to comply with which include the overall size and height of your studio. The majority of homes have permitted development rights for their land but it is worthwhile checking for your home and area.

Within permitted development the key rules are as follows:

  • Garden rooms must be single story
  • The building cannot exceed more than 50% of your garden. When calculating the 50% overall you must take into consideration all outbuildings including sheds, and extensions to the original home.
  • It should not be sited on land forward of a wall forming the 'principal elevation' (that means not in front of the house).
  • If the garden room is within 2m of the property boundary the whole building should not be higher than 2.5m

How much does a garden room yoga studio cost?

The cost of a garden room for yoga or pilates can vary quite a bit, as it really depends on what you need and how you plan to use the space. Factors like size, layout, insulation, finishes, and optional extras such as electrics, heating, or plumbing can all influence the final price. Some garden studios are simple and budget-friendly, while others are more high-end and tailored with bespoke features. We offer a wide range of options to suit different styles and budgets.

Are insulated garden studios worth the money?

Outdoor rooms are the perfect way to add space to your home without the expense, disruption, and extensive installation time of loft conversions and traditional extensions.

Most people find that the separation from the house is also a benefit for work purposes, as well as being away from the noise and disruption that most busy families experience. So if you are looking for a space to work from home, then an insulated garden building could be the answer!

Can I build a home yoga studio next to my neighbours fence?

Yes, in many cases you can, but there are specific rules you need to follow. Under permitted development rights, if your garden studio is within 2 metres of the boundary, the building’s maximum height cannot exceed 2.5 metres. You’ll also need to ensure the structure is single-storey and doesn’t cover more than 50% of your garden (including all outbuildings and extensions). Always check your local planning authority for any additional restrictions, and consider discussing your plans with your neighbour to maintain good relations.

Will a garden room add value to my property?

Yes, a garden room can add value to your property. It creates extra usable space without the need for a full extension, which is appealing to many buyers. A well-built garden cabin can make your home more versatile and attractive, especially with the growing demand for flexible living and working spaces.

What size garden room do I need without planning permission?

The general rules on garden room sizes are as follows:

  • Up to 15m² floor space internally should not normally be required to comply with building regulations.
  • 15m² - 30m² floor space internally should not normally be required to comply with building regulations unless it is situated less than 1m away from your property boundary.
  • 30m²+ floor space internally should require building regulations approval. This is something Cabin Master can provide guidance and assistance with.
  • The rules in your particular area can be found on your local planning portal website.

Can I use a garden room year-round? Is insulation needed?

Yes, you can use a garden room year-round — but insulation is key. Without quality insulation, the space can get cold in winter and hot in summer. A well-insulated garden room helps regulate the temperature, making it comfortable in all seasons. It also improves energy efficiency and keeps out damp and noise, so it’s worth including if you want a space that feels like a true extension of your home.

Do you need planning permission for a toilet in a garden room?

Buildings regs can be applied to allow for you to add water and waste to your new garden room and also use the space as a 'livable structure'. Contact our team to find out more.

How close can a garden room be to a boundary?

Most small to medium garden studios can be situated less than 1m from the boundary with any neighbours under permitted development rules when the overall height does not exceed 2.5m.
