Bespoke Cabins Garden Gym Rooms

Make Time For For You

A garden gym room is the perfect solution for fitness enthusiasts looking for a convenient and comfortable space to work out.

Because we manufacture each cabin to your chosen size, it means you can decide on the perfect area large enough to fit all your equipment in. We offer a ‘higher than average’ ceiling height for customers who want to include gym equipment that needs extra clearance such as weight racks, climbers and bikes.

At Cabin Master, we build solid structures that will last for decades with little maintenance required. Our timber structured garden gyms are made from premium materials, with quality built into every aspect of our designs.

Invest in Yourself

Often motivating yourself to leave the house and head out to the gym is a real struggle. Gym memberships are often overpriced, not to mention the extortionate joining fees. When you create your own gym at home in the garden, though, you won't need to pay any monthly subscriptions and you'll have 24/7 access to the equipment you desire and it will always be available for you to use, no need to queue! After your initial investment in equipment and your garden room, you will still save money over the years.

Built Around Your Own Routine

Having sold hundreds of garden gyms during our 20+ years of trading, we know a thing or two about them…

For starters, they are a great way to get fit and, with the British weather being as unpredictable as it can sometimes be, you don’t have to worry about the rain or cold putting a damper on your workout. A garden gym is essentially a garden room that has been designed and built specifically for the purpose of working out - garden gyms are becoming increasingly popular as people look for alternatives to getting fit and healthy without having to leave the comfort of their homes.

Adding Value To Your Home

Having a garden gym is a unique feature that sets your home apart from others on the market. It's an attractive selling point for potential buyers who value fitness and want a dedicated space to workout. Moreover, installing a garden gym can increase the overall square footage of your property. This means that your home's value can increase significantly. According to some estimates, adding a garden gym can increase your home's value by up to 20%.  Building an extension or converting a room into a gym can be a costly and time-consuming process. A garden gym, on the other hand, can be installed quickly and at a fraction of the cost.

Every component we use in our Cabin Master garden rooms is guaranteed for quality and durability. Each building comes with a 10-year workmanship and labour guarantee, plus the guarantees of each individual component or building material included. Below are some typical examples:

  • 10 year guarantee on building materials.
  • 1 year metalwork guarantee (including hinges, handles and ironmongery).
  • 10 year guarantee on UPVc doors.
  • 10 year guarantee on window frames.
  • 4 year guarantee on glass window units.

To build our garden gyms we make use of only the best raw materials and building components, and fully qualified local contractors.

  • Timber: Forest Stewardship Council Approved timber suppliers.
  • Roofing: For flat roofs we use high performance EPDM rubber roofing. For sloping roofs we use Kerbit SBS roofing shingles.
  • Doors & Windows: Double glazed, energy efficient uPVC doors and windows for peak energy efficiency.
  • Insulation: High quality silver-backed foam insulation from Celotex, Kingspan, Extratherm or similar.
  • Finishing: FSC approved MDF interior boards with Neatmatch damp resistant coating.

Our design team are on hand to turn your new home gym vision into a reality.
Your ideas and sketches are transformed into a CAD drawing which is then perfected until you are 100% happy. The design for your new gym space is then sent to our factory where the cabin is created.

When you order your new Garden Gym or Exercise Studio, we will arrange a convenient delivery and installation schedule, with an affordable quote tailored to your needs. The cost of delivery and fitting depends on the size of your building, where you live, transportation distance and how many people you need to set up your new Cabin Master building.

The final price is determined by the size of your garden gym room and the features you choose.
We provide a comprehensive, transparent quote for each garden gym, issued on an individual basis.
Your quote will include a design consultation, garden gym base, construction materials and labour.

Pay Monthly

Why not take advantage of our fantastic finance options and get your dream garden gym sooner than you think! With our Buy Now Pay Later option you can defer the outstanding balance for up to 9 months, or with our Interest Bearing Credit option you can spread the cost over 36, 60, or 120 months at a competitive 8.9% APR representative. After applying our finance partner Novuna will provide you with a decision in minutes. Our ‘pay monthly’ plans are the most affordable way of accessing a brand-new garden room from Cabin Master. All finance applications are subject to status, 20% minimum deposit required, terms and conditions apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Need Planning Permission for a Garden Gym?

By UK law, you are entitled to up to 30m² of development space for an outbuilding in your garden, without the need for express planning permission. Government guidelines state that you will not require permission if the following conditions are met:

  • The outbuilding must be situated at the side or rear of your house, and cannot extend beyond the part of the original house that is nearest to the road.
  • The outbuilding must be single storey.
  • The outbuilding must not be on the grounds of a listed building.

How Big Should a Garden Room be Without Planning Permission?

Your garden room, garden gym, or office gym can be up to 30m² before planning permission is required. There are some stipulations regarding height that must also be considered, such as:

  • The maximum eaves height, the height of the building’s walls; not including the height of the roof of the building, must be no more than 2.5m (8.25ft)
  • The maximum overall height of a building with a dual pitched roof must be no more than 4m (13.1ft)
  • The maximum overall height of the building must be no more than 3m (9.8ft) with a flat roof.

How Do You Turn a Garden Shed into a Gym?

A garden shed, particularly one that has previously only been used for storage, is not usually suitable for the purpose of turning into a garden gym without major works being undertaken.

Garden sheds are rarely thermally insulated; damp proof, structurally suitable, or tall enough to confidently house expensive gym equipment, particularly if the equipment is made of corrodible metals or requires a high roof such as the ‘functional training centres’ that are common in home gyms.

The best way to create a gym for your garden is to create a purpose built cabin that can house your equipment safely and securely.

How High Should a Garden Gym Be?

One of the most overlooked considerations for a garden gym is internal head height. Our standard buildings are built to meet the typical permitted development requirements needed, and while this is sufficient for some gym equipment and exercise, generally, a height of 2.5m of ceiling height is required to ensure adequate clearance for others pieces of apparatus, such as weights, hanging punch bags and bars. Our taller buildings provide an internal height of 2.5m, meaning you've got plenty of room to enjoy all the usual routines you'd take part in at the gym.

How Long Will It Take to Build My Garden Gym?

Depending on the dimensions you opt for with your garden gym, typically our garden buildings don't take any longer than 4 working days to complete. This process begins with our team putting down the base and foundations, followed the next day by the main building., which takes between 1-2 days. Our teams contain at least two members of expert staff, who work together to get the job done. Next the electric points and lighting is installed, and finally our decorator will take care of finishing off your cabin inside with a coat or two of paint in your chosen shades (or shades, many owners opt for a feature wall as well as a main colour), and the outside will be treated if you chose a redwood or cedar garden gym.
